Sailing Through Life’s Storms

There is a saying…

“Great Successful Ship Captains are made on Difficult & Rough Seas not easy smooth waters!”

No matter the Storm, KEEP sailing with Faith, Hope & Love in Christ. Keep your eyes & bearing upon the Son of Victory on the horizon. Don’t give up, keep sailing, success is in the process & in the making!

Ps 34:19 Passion Bible “Even when bad things happen to the good and godly ones, the Lord will save them and not let them be defeated by what they face.”

Heb 10:35-36 AMP “Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised!”

Heb 12:2 AMP “Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Acts 16:25-26 Passion Bible “Paul and Silas, undaunted, prayed in the middle of the night and sang songs of praise to God, while all the other prisoners listened to their worship.

Suddenly, a great earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. All at once every prison door flung open and the chains of all the prisoners came loose.”

So, what do we learn from scripture:

1- Life brings challenges, disappointments, setbacks, adversity, hurts, letdowns and storms. We live in a fallen, sinful death-filled world with an adversary who wants us to give up. We haven’t reached the end yet, but the best is yet to come.

2- Keep going, running with patience. We must not give up, let go or stop moving forward, but allow patience (endurance) to carry us through.

3- Keep our eyes on the Goal, Christ Jesus. Don’t take them off Him, the Author and Finisher of our Faith.

4- Let Praise flow from your lips regardless of circumstances. The power of Praise brings the One you are praising into your storm & circumstances with His Power & Grace!

Remember, He is the start (gave birth to) our faith and finisher (perfecter, completion) of our faith, or you can say He’s the one who got us started & He’s the only one who will get us to the finish.

Our Faith and Praise is not just to be fixed on the promise but on He who gave the Promise!

So, we keep our eyes fixed on Him. The Shepard, Healer, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Life, Lover of our soul, Everlasting Joy, Grave robber, Miracle worker, King of kings & Lord of lords. He is the Resurrection and the Life, the Anchor of our Soul. Don’t let your eyes be distracted by the Storms. Keep them fixed on Jesus, our Eternal Hope. Let’s Not Give Up!

Happy Thanksliving!

Happy Thanksliving from REACh International Ministries!

Dear Friends, We wanted to send you a Thanksgiving Note to say that we are thankful for the relationship we have with you, our partners, & to thank our Lord & Savior who has so wonderfully blessed us abundantly. As we have lived on the Mission Field since the year 2000 & we have seen the desperation and lack of many without Christ in the nations of Asia. However, living in the midst of that lack & helplessness we have always seen the abounding Faithfulness of God the Father revealed to whomsoever calls on His name in faith as a result of His Unconditional & Unchanging Love towards all humanity!

On Thanksgiving day, as you know all across the United States, families sat down to eat a celebratory meal in the honor of the great tradition the American Pilgrims started when they celebrated the beginning of their new life in a new home land. All Americans can now enjoy much freedom and blessings in a prosperous nation today because of the sacrifice that the early forefathers paid to ensure such a blessed & abundant country! Americans should remain very thankful for their forefathers giving and sacrifice to make it a better country for the generations that came after them!

Today, let all of us who call ourselves Christians remember the blessings we have today as a result of God’s mercy and grace given to us through the sacrifice of His son Jesus! Because of His suffering & sacrifice we are now enjoying God’s wonderful Blessings. Surely, although challenging times that surround us may be full of hardships & trials, we can chose to be thankful for the abundance of Grace that abounds towards us because of Christ! As we do this we are humbling ourselves. You see humility acknowledges ones inability and gives thanks to the one who is greater than themselves! As you choose to humble yourself & Thank God, you are acknowledging your inability and your dependence on His greatness, He then lifts you up to a higher place beyond your ability into His ability (which is Grace).

James 4:10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up

1 Peter 5:5-7be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you”!

He lifts those who clothe themselves in Humility (or one who gives acknowledgement of dependence together with thankfulness to the greater one) to a place full of His grace, in which your ability and power could never get you there. Then that Grace brings us into the answers we would otherwise be in care about. With Thankfulness, we can let go of our cares and grab hold of God and His Amazing Grace! We then choose to live a life of ThanksLiving each and everyday! Let us stop today and take time to acknowledge His Grace given to us through Christ and express our thankfulness in prayer & worship! Then as we Thank Him, He will release that abundance in our life for every needed area!

Steps of ThanksLiving:
#1 Let us admit our dependence on Him/Humble ourselves!
#2 Acknowledge that the work of His son is greater than our ability!
#3 Begin to cast our cares on Him by Thanking Him for His Love and Grace given to all humanity through the finished work & gift of Christ’s sacrifice!
#4 Watch and see how He begins to lift us into a higher place of Grace that brings victory to all our needs!

As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. May we embrace a Lifestyle of Thanksgiving for what Christ has done and for the relationships of people he has surrounded us with! And may each of you have a wonderful time of Thanksliving each and every day!
